Republican lawmakers are under fire this week after they turned their backs on millions of conservatives and sided with the establishment liberals in Washington D.C.
The U.S. Senate had an opportunity this week to deliver the long-awaited Obamacare repeal for the American people. However, six Republicans flip-flopped and helped the Dems kill the Obamacare repeal package.
- Sens. Dean Heller (R-NV)
- Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV)
- John McCain (R-AZ)
- Lamar Alexander (R-TN)
- Lisa Murkowski (R-AK)
- Rob Portman (R-OH)
- Susan Collins (R-ME)
One of the most conservative members in Washington D.C., Senator Rand Paul, published an exclusive column in Breitbart this past week, demanding that fellow lawmakers take action to repeal Obamacare.
As many have pointed out, almost every Republican in Washington D.C. was on the record calling for a full Obamacare repeal over the past several years. However, now that Republicans are in control and they actually have power to repeal the law, they are going back on their word.
Where we should start is where we all promised we would be – here to repeal Obamacare. It is time we kept our word to the American people,” Senator Paul wrote. “We all ran on it. All but one GOP Senator voted for it previously in 2015. It is simple. If you are against the taxes and mandates of Obamacare you have an obligation to vote for this bill today.”
The facts of this case are extremely simple – Obamacare has made our health care system worse in numerous ways. Prices are higher, options are fewer, and overall care is getting worse.
See for yourself – Senator Paul laid out the facts against Obamacare in his latest column (via Breitbart):
- Firstly, Obamacare premiums have doubled in the individual market in just a few short years.
- Secondly, Obamacare insurance rules and mandates have caused 4.7 million plan cancellations across 30 states.
- Third, 800,000 fewer jobs because of Obamacare mandates and costs.
- Fourth and finally, 50 percent of Americans have only one choice in insurance.
At this point, no reasonable person could possibly think it’s a good idea to leave Obamacare in place. That’s why President Donald Trump and the majority of Republicans in Washington D.C. support it.
Sadly, however, a small group of rogue RINOs has been able to mess up progress for the rest of us. We hope they know we are not going to foget about this in 2020.
